Privacy Policy

The short version

YapSpan estimates your biological age and life expectancy from lifestyle quizzes so you can build healthier habits. We store the minimum needed to make that work: your account, your quiz answers, and (only if you opt in) daily health summaries. We never sell your data, we never use it for advertising, and raw Apple Health samples never leave your phone.

What we collect and store

• Account information (name, email) via our sign-in provider, Clerk, when you sign in with email, Google, or Apple.
• Your quiz answers and the resulting scores (biological age, life expectancy estimates, marker scores, and score history), so your progress syncs and survives reinstalls.
• Your in-app settings, such as whether the death-age display or family history scoring is enabled.
• Messages you send to the AI coach and its replies, so your conversation history is available to you.
• A push notification token, if you allow notifications, so reminders you ask for can be delivered.

Apple Health data

Apple Health sync is optional and read-only. If you grant access, YapSpan reads metrics like sleep, exercise, steps, heart rate, weight, blood pressure, and blood glucose, and summarizes the last 30 days on your device into one value per metric per day. Only those daily summaries are uploaded to answer your quiz questions with measured data. Raw, intra-day samples never leave your phone.

• Health data is never used for advertising or marketing.
• Health data is never sold or shared with data brokers.
• The app never writes anything to Apple Health.
• You can revoke access at any time in iOS Settings > Health.

AI coach and voice mode

When you chat with the coach, your message and relevant context (such as your scores and daily health summaries) are sent to our AI model providers to generate a reply. Providers process this data to serve your request; we do not permit them to use it to train their models. If you use voice mode, your speech is streamed for live transcription and the audio is not stored after processing.

What we don't do

• We don't sell your data.
• We don't show ads or share personal data with advertisers.
• We don't use your health data for anything except the features you see.

YapSpan estimates are for reflection and entertainment only. They are not medical advice, a diagnosis, or a prediction of any individual outcome.

Your rights and deletion

You can access, correct, or delete your data at any time. Deleting your account from the Profile tab in the app permanently removes your account and all synced data (quiz answers, scores, health summaries, and chat history) from our servers. You can also email us to exercise any of these rights.
