Why alcohol matters
Why it matters
In a pooled analysis of about 600,000 drinkers, the risk of death rose steadily above about 100 g of alcohol a week, roughly seven drinks, and people drinking over 350 g a week had four to five fewer years of life at age 40 [1]. A global analysis found no level of drinking that lowers overall health risk [2].
