Why diet matters
If eating feels out of control or scary, talk to a clinician.
Why it matters
What you eat most days adds up over a lifetime. Modeling of large cohorts suggests that moving from a typical Western diet to an optimal one, with more legumes, whole grains, nuts, fish and vegetables, could add several years, more the younger you start [1]. Five servings of fruit and vegetables a day went with about 13% lower mortality [2], and each daily sugary drink with about 7% higher [3].
