Why movement matters
Why it matters
Movement is one of the best-measured habits in longevity research. In a pooled analysis of about 650,000 adults, 150 minutes a week of brisk walking was linked to about 3.4 more years of life [1], and the benefit kept growing, more slowly, up to three to five times that amount [2]. Strength training adds its own 10 to 17% lower mortality on top [3].
