Why heart health matters
Why it matters
Heart disease and stroke are the leading causes of death [1], and nearly half of adults with high blood pressure do not know they have it [2]. Both main drivers respond to treatment: every 10 mmHg of systolic pressure lowered cut deaths from any cause by about 13% [3], and every 1 mmol/L of LDL cholesterol lowered with statins cut them by about 10% [4].
