Why smoking matters
Coughing blood, losing weight without trying, or breathless at rest: see a doctor now, not after a quiz.
Why it matters
Smoking is the biggest single lifestyle risk to lifespan: lifelong smokers lose about ten years of life [1, 2]. Quitting gives most of it back, about nine of those ten years for people who quit before 40 [1]. For smokers trying to stop, nicotine e-cigarettes helped more people quit than nicotine replacement [3].
